Hello, my name is Nate Hoppel and I am about to finish my seventh semester at Lee University as a Music Education major. I attended Cleveland High School from Cleveland, Tennessee and I marched in the band there. We participated in USSBA competitions as well as BOA - including going to Grand Nationals two years in a row! Unfortunately, Lee doesn't have a football team, thus, no marching band, but I still LOVE writing drill! My style is different from most. I strive to be as realistic as possible with my shows, which may account for my slow-moving and simpler shows.

The corps I love the most is Phantom Regiment which was inspired by my band director, Zach Riggins, who marched in the early 1990's. I auditioned in November, 2010 and made it to the second camp, but got released from the corps after the second camp. Those two weekends taught me SOO much as a low brass player and future music educator!

I can't decide what show of Phantom Regiment's is my favorite, but I do enjoy their 1989, 1996, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011 shows very much!

On December 29th of this year I will be getting married to a wonderful woman named Marci who also goes to school here at Lee and plays the flute - with great skill, might I add.

I also have written an opener for a local band in the area this past marching season (Fall 2011)!
