DCA's Alliance Goes Inactive

Alliance Drum & Bugle Corps will not be taking the field this season. This is a very sad moment in drum corps. Though I am a member of the "rival" corps AtlantaCV, I extend my deepest condolences to any and everyone who has been or was going to be a part of the organization. I hope and pray that this is only temporary and wish the corps a speedy and well deserved recovery from this setback.

What happend?

Too few members.

As small as SS is, we are still active and that makes me feel thankful for the opportunity to compete.

As far as Alliance goes, I am sure they are doing what is best for the group, and I hope they are returning next year.

I should clarify...they had members to field a class A corps, but they didn't want to rewrite their entire show. They had several members interested to field on Open class corps, but those members are/were involved in winter groups and wouldn't be able to join the corps in a timely manner from the view of those running the corps. And apparently they've had to move their rehearsal spaces several times and were having a very difficult time finding a space near Atlanta.

I hope Aliiance returns next year as well. They brought a new level to DCA-South and were very entertaining to watch.

I get a lot of emails from Alliance ever since I went to one of their camps.. This is pretty much the email they sent in March about going inactive.

I have no hope of ever doing DCI so I was looking at Alliance a few years ago. Maybe in a few years once I get done with school I can march with them, that is if they still exist by then.

Such a fantastic corps. The future will know what will come for Alliance.
