Critique of the Week

Joe Lesko captainSep '11  /  edited Mar '12
In the past, we've disallowed critique on published shows, because the number of shows vastly outnumber those members who are good at giving quality, constructive feedback.

However, since most new members struggle with the same issues, I think it would be very useful to choose one or two published shows per week, allowing our advanced members to openly comment on them. Aside from helping the author of the show, everyone else can read the feedback and apply the general ideas to their own shows.

Rules for giving critique:

-- You must have 3,000 xp or more to comment.
-- As much as possible, refer to specific sets (Use Page Up/Down in view mode)
-- Be specific, but try to back it up with general principles.

For example: "In sets 5 & 6, your drumline is just sitting there. In general, it's best to keep all sections moving throughout the show."

-- You don't need to write a lot. Sometimes just a couple of sentences is enough.
-- You can link to shows with good examples of what you're trying to say.
-- You can disagree with previous commenters, but please politely back it up with your reason.

I hope many of our resident design gurus will give it a shot. =)

Thanks!
